Keeping Up with Steven Bartlett: PointFit joins Tatler Asia and HKSTP on building lasting companies

HONG KONG, 27 October 2025 Steven Bartlett, host of The Diary of a CEO, joined Tatler Asia and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) for an exclusive breakfast dialogue at Club Bâtard in Central. More than 50 founders, investors, and industry leaders gathered to talk about culture, people, and the work behind sustainable innovation.

Culture before product

In a fireside chat moderated by Tatler Asia president Tamara Lamunière, Bartlett described spending more time building the factory (culture, people, and strategy) than the car (the product). He said he dedicates much of his time to hiring people who fit the mission, because lasting value comes from teams that are aligned, talented, and motivated.

Bartlett also spoke about consistency in storytelling, learning through repetition, and using feedback to improve. He encouraged founders to stay hands-on with thinking and learning, not to outsource the habits that keep judgment sharp.

The morning continued with a panel featuring Bartlett, GoGoChart founder Daniel Lo, and PointFit Co-Founder and CEO Kenny Oktavius. Kenny shared how PointFit is developing a skin-patch sensor that tracks biomarkers in sweat for real-time health insights, with a goal to make advanced monitoring more affordable and accessible, including in places with limited medical resources.

When asked what drives him today, Kenny said that without accessible non-invasive biomarker monitoring, lives can be lost. That mission sits at the center of PointFit's work on continuous sweat sensing for athletes, active people, and broader health applications over time.

Bartlett's advice to founders on the panel was direct: expect hard days, focus on what you can control, and invest early in exceptional people. The event closed with networking among Hong Kong's innovation community, supported by HKSTP's ecosystem of founders and technology companies.
