Pegasus Venture - Startup World Cup China Regional Champion 2024

HONG KONG, August 2024 PointFit Technology was recognized at Startup World Cup 2024, the global competition backed by Pegasus Tech Ventures that brings together top startups, investors, and technology leaders from around the world.

Hong Kong regional finals at HKUST

The Hong Kong regional finals were held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), with ten innovative startups competing for a place in the global finale in San Francisco. Dr. Shin Cheul Kim, Associate Vice-President for Research and Development (Knowledge Transfer) at HKUST, and Ms. Judy Zhang, Senior Investment Director at Pegasus Tech Ventures, opened the event with welcome remarks.

PointFit Technology placed first runner-up in the Hong Kong regional competition and advanced to the Asian regional finals. The judges highlighted PointFit's super-thin skin patch that tracks health conditions through sweat, providing real-time alerts when biomarkers approach dangerous thresholds. The patch monitors biochemical signals such as lactic acid and glucose, making it valuable for athletes, high-stress workers, and the elderly.

Introducing sweat sensing on the global stage

Co-Founder and CEO Kenny Oktavius represented PointFit at Pegasus Tech Ventures' Startup World Cup program, introducing the company's sweat-sensing technology to an international audience of founders and investors. The competition offered a platform to showcase how continuous, non-invasive biomarker monitoring can move beyond heart-rate wearables toward chemical-level insights from perspiration.
